Stepping on Yourself - Snap Out of It

I have been out of shape for so many years, I had forgotten how good it felt to be in shape. And being out of shape also “depressed” my mood where I became an irritate, glass-is-half-empty kind of guy.

I know Fitness2Xtreme website caters to those individuals who are already in uber shape but as a contributing writer, I thought it was a perfect time to get my sorry ass back into shape, and share my journey along the way in hopes that I can inspire others to get into shape.

So what got me all fired up (in addition to writing for Fitness2Xtreme)? An article called “30 Days of Discipline”. It costs $7, found at Bold and Determined website (here – NOT an affiliate link), that I encountered accidentally while researching a fitness topic (ALERT:  Bold and Determined website might offend our female audience but the site clearly says it is NOT politically correct)

The article is a 12 step instructions wrapped in 25 pages, outlining exactly what you need to do in 30 days to break out of doldrums and start getting shape both mentally and physically:

I am sick of my crappy woe-is-me attitude so I am going to get myself started today!

I will keep a “journal” here to describe my progress so let me know if you have any questions via comment section.

** UPDATE 2012.05.09 07:40 US ET **

  • WAKE TIME – Went to bed at 1:30 am last night.  Got up a 5am but fell back to sleep and did not wake up again until 7am (ugh) – tomorrow, I am dragging my butt out of bed and jumping into shower right away
  • SHOWER – Started with a warm shower to soap up and turned off the hot water completely; YIKES.  Talk about shocking my system!  It was so friggin’ cold, I could not breath and had to jump out of the shower with soapy head.  I usually take 15 min showers and I did not even last 2 minutes with cold water.  I am going to start timing myself tomorrow.
  • BREAKFAST – small bowel of cereal and a large mug of piping hot coffee

  • CLOTHING – nicely pressed white collar shirt and navy blue shorts (I work from home so my usual outfit is a t-shirt with boxer shorts)
  • EXERCISE – 10 push ups / 20 crunches / 20 standing squats
  • TO-DO LIST – sat down in my office to start updating my to-do list

As the author of 30 Days of Discpline warned, it was not easy completing all these tasks.  Let’s take a look and see how I did on my Day # 1:

Overall not too bad of a start but I have to be honest with you, I am not looking forward to that cold shower at 5am!

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English.
